Accessibility Guide

Organic Camera is designed to work with Apple accessibility features, including Voice Control, VoiceOver, and Switch Control. Its minimal layout keeps key camera actions distinct and easier to identify.

Availability may vary by device, iOS version, camera mode, lens availability, and your system accessibility settings.

Before you begin

Turn on Voice Control in iOS first, then open Organic Camera. This puts iPhone into a listening state before you begin using the camera controls.

  1. Open Settings Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Choose Accessibility Find the Accessibility section in Settings.
  3. Open Voice Control Select Voice Control from the accessibility options.
  4. Turn it on Complete the iOS setup if prompted, then enable Voice Control.
  5. Open Organic Camera Use commands for controls that are visible on the current screen.

Start with “Tap

When using Voice Control, begin your command with Tap, followed by the visible name of the control. This makes the intended action clearer to iOS.

Use the control’s visible name

For example, instead of saying only “Hallmark”, say Tap Hallmark”. For the shutter, say Tap Shutter” or Tap Capture”.

How Voice Control works

Voice Control lets you activate on-screen controls by speaking their names. Commands are most reliable when the matching control is visible and you use Tap” + the control name.

01

Say Tap first

Begin every command with Tap, then say the name shown on screen.

02

Use what you see

Speak the current, visible label of the button you want to activate.

03

Ask iOS for help

Say “Show names” or “Show numbers” to reveal selectable controls.

Turn on VoiceOver

VoiceOver reads the content of the screen aloud and helps you navigate through touch gestures. In Organic Camera, accessibility labels and hints help describe key controls before you activate them.

Step 01 Open Settings

Start from the Settings app on your iPhone.

Step 02 Choose Accessibility

Open the Accessibility section in Settings.

Step 03 Open VoiceOver

Select VoiceOver from the accessibility options.

Step 04 Turn VoiceOver on

Enable VoiceOver and wait for iPhone to announce that it is active.

Step 05 Open Organic Camera

Explore controls one at a time, then double-tap the selected item to activate it.

With VoiceOver on, touch interactions change: tap once to hear the focused item, then double-tap to activate it. Use familiar VoiceOver gestures to move through controls and scroll the page.

If a command does not work

Voice Control works best when commands are spoken clearly and the correct camera screen is visible.

  • Confirm that Voice Control is enabled in iOS Settings.
  • Begin the command with Tap.
  • Use the visible, on-screen name of the control.
  • Make sure the control is currently available in the active camera mode.
  • Say “Show names” to display available labels.
  • Say “Show numbers” to choose a visible control by number.
  • Remember that a camera, photo/video mode, lens, device model, and iOS accessibility settings can affect which controls are available.
